Background
The AI Capability Gap in HR Is Widening Fast
As AI tools become ubiquitous in the workplace, most HR professionals have started using AI — but the gap between "using AI" and "having genuine AI capability" is becoming a critically underestimated variable in HR career development.
Most HR professionals are currently at L1: AI has entered their work, but only as a tool for occasional efficiency gains. Usage lacks replicability; switching tasks often means starting from scratch. This gap extends well beyond individual productivity.
HR functions are responsible for talent standards, process design, and capability building. The AI maturity of an HR team directly shapes the organization's ability to identify AI-capable talent, embrace AI-driven work methods, and move into the AI era at speed.
"Many HR professionals are using AI, but don't know where they stand or what to do next. That's exactly why we built this framework — to help HR see clearly where they are, and find a path forward."

The Framework
HR AI Forward Maturity Framework: 4 Levels, 12 Stages
The HR AI Forward Maturity Framework is the first AI maturity standard purpose-built for HR functions in China. Built on systematic research and in-depth interviews with HR practitioners, it uses a 4-level, 12-stage structure covering the full progression from AI-absent workflows to AI-native organizational leadership.
L0 · Traditional HR — AI has not entered daily work. Stages: Manual Executor · AI Aware · Early Experimenter.
L1 · AI-Enabled HR — AI is used as a tool, but usage is ad-hoc, lacks replicability, and hasn't formed stable working methods. Most HR professionals are here. Stages: Tool Beginner · Tool User · Structured User.
L2 · AI-Ready HR · The Critical Threshold — AI has entered the working method itself. Replicable, transferable, and cumulative across contexts. This is the core inflection point of the framework and the threshold for AI-Ready Credential certification. Stages: Process Integrator · Capability Builder · Mature Practitioner.
L3 · AI-Native HR — AI has become part of the work structure itself. HR professionals begin to redesign processes, build systems, and drive organizational AI transformation. Stages: Systems Explorer · Systems Operator · Native Leader.
The key insight: moving from L0 to L1 is contact and experimentation. Moving from L1 to L2 is capability and structure — a fundamentally different shift. At L1, AI is optional. At L2, AI is embedded. L2 is the real leap.
What This Assessment Measures — and What It Doesn't
What We Measure
- Whether AI has genuinely entered daily work
- Whether usage is consistent, not sporadic
- Whether replicable methods and habits have formed
- Whether AI capability transfers across contexts
- Whether usage has evolved from personal to process-level
What We Don't Measure
- AI terminology and concept recall
- Prompt writing technique
- Familiarity with specific tools
- Software operation knowledge
- Occasional high-quality one-off outputs
Products
Three Products. Individual, Team, and Organizational.
26 questions designed around real HR work behaviors. Takes approximately 10–15 minutes. Those who reach L2 or above can apply for the AI-Ready Credential — a publicly verifiable professional credential, shareable on LinkedIn.
Pioneer spots are limited. First-come, first-served.
